| Joint International Graduate School Program (Kobe University Medicine PhD Program) offered by CDB |
RIKEN CDB and Graduate School of Medicine, Kobe University established RIKEN|Kobe University International School on April 1 2010.
Its main purpose is to offer overseas students an opportunity to enroll in the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Medicine in Kobe University. Students will engage in cutting edge research programs at RIKEN CDB under the supervision of faculty members with a joint appointment between Kobe University and RIKEN. RIKEN will partially provide student living costs under the International Program Associate (IPA) program. There are two periods of enrollment, autumn (enrollment in October) and spring (enrollment in April). |

Admission Requirements: One of the following
| a) |
Those who have completed, or are scheduled to complete by the time of admission, 18 years of school education (the last course of which is either medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine). |
| b) |
Those who, after completing 16 years of school education (not excluding the courses of medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine), have engaged in more than 2 years of research at universities or equivalent research organizations. |
| c) |
Those who are recognized by Graduate School of Medicine to have the same or even higher academic competence than medical school graduates. |

Application and Selection
Successful applicants will be selected based on the following three processes:
| 1) |
Consultation for application with the CDB scientist, who is a visiting faculty member of Kobe University, before applying to the program (generally 1-2 months ahead of the deadline)
When you contact one of the scientists, please provide a brief statement of your research interests. |
