Satoru Okuda

Satoru Okuda received his Ph. D. in engineering from The University of Kyoto in 2013, and joined the RIKEN CDB Laboratory for Organogenesis and Neurogenesis, where he served as a research scientist until 2015. From 2013, he has also joined the RIKEN CDB In Vitro Histogenesis Unit.

He is interested in the interface between mechanics and biology, and now working in the research of 3D multicellular morphogenesis. Combining the cell-based 3D modeling with quantitative mechanical measurements in 3D cultured tissue, he is aiming to bridge the gaps of understandings between cell biology and morphogenesis.
