Takashi Tsuji


Takashi Tsuji received his Master’s degree from Niigata University in 1986. After working in the pharmaceuticals industry for three years, he returned to academia at Kyushu University, received his doctorate in 1992 from Niigata University. He served as senior research scientist of Medical and Pharmaceutical Research Laboratories at JT Inc. From 2001, he moved to Tokyo University of Science, where he was appointed professor in 2007. He has received numerous prestigious grants and awards and participated in numerous industry collaborations. He joined the CDB as a Group Director in 2014, and has served as Team Leader since the restructuring of the Center in November 2014. His research interests are technology development in organ induction and regeneration, using insights from developmental biology, and translational research involving such technologies aimed at future clinical applications.
