The CDB has established affiliated graduate program relationships with a number of graduate schools in the Kansai region of Japan (western Japan) to cultivate the next generation of young researchers into the mechanisms of development and regeneration.
At present, the following graduate programs have established official affiliated relationships with the CDB:

âKyoto University
Graduate School of Biostudies
Graduate School of Medicine

âKobe University
Graduate School of ScienceFHayashi, Kuratani, Hanashima
Joint International Graduate School Program (Science PhD)

Graduate School of MedicineFNishikawa, Niwa, Okano
Joint International Graduate School Program (Medicine PhD)

âNara Institute of Science and Technology
Graduate School of Biological Sciences

âKwansei Gakuin University
Graduate School of Science and Technology

âOsaka University
Graduate School of Medicine
Graduate School of Science

On fulfilling certain requirements, graduate students in these departments are eligible to receive instruction in research at the CDB. Students who have been accepted to the above graduate programs are able to conduct their academic research at the RIKEN CDB facilities.@The specific requirements for participation in research through the affiliated graduate programs system differs from lab to lab. Students interested in working in a CDB research lab under this system should contact the head of the laboratory of interest by email. (In principle, acceptance into this program is decided at the individual laboratory level; students interested in participating in the program should confirm with the head of their laboratory of interest prior to submitting their graduate school applications.)
