Daisuke Mizuno

Daisuke Mizuno is an associate professor in Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2002 from the Department of Applied Physics, The University of Tokyo, Japan. After obtaining his Ph. D. degree, he moved to work as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Vrije University in Amsterdam for 3 years, and next at the Gottingen University for a year. He then assumed a position of research associate professor at the Kyushu University in 2007. He was later appointed associate professor in 2011 at the same university and now runs his own group. His group is interested in the rheology of biomaterials and living organisms and investigate the enigmatic out-of-equilibrium mechanism that interrelates the mechanics and forces, by creating simple model systems composed of cytoskeleton structures, and by developing the novel microrheology technology.
