Takashi Tsuji

Takashi Tsuji received his Ph.D. from Niigata University Department Biology in 1993 after the PhD course of Graduate School of Science, Kyushu University. He spent the period from 1993 to 2000, researching the mechanisms of self-renewal and amplification of hematopoietic stem cells in hematopoietic microenvironment, as a senior researcher at the Pharmaceutical Frontier Research Laboratories, JT Inc. He moved to Graduate School of Industrial Science and Technology, Tokyo University of Science to take position as associate professor in the Department of Biological Science in 2000, where he remained until he was appointed professor in 2007. He was appointed professor of Research Institute of Science and Technology, Tokyo University of Science in 2009. His current research interests are organogenesis including self-organization through epithelial and mesenchymal interactions in 3D stem cell culture, morphogenesis and applications of his studies to organ regeneration for improving regenerative medicine.
