Takashi Nishimura

Takashi Nishimura obtained his Ph.D. in Kozo Kaibuchi's lab at the Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine in 2004 for his work on the regulation of neuronal polarization in cultured hippocampal neurons. He trained Drosophila genetics and development as a post-doc in Jurgen Knoblich's group at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology in Vienna, Austria. He was appointed team leader at the RIKEN Center for Developmental Biology in 2009. His team is interested in the mechanisms regulating body growth and developmental timing using Drosophila as a model.
