Outline

Since the rise of Evolutionary Developmental Biology, evolutionary and comparative zoology has sought new research perspectives by the inclusion of paleontological studies into its scope. Focusing on evolution and diversity of vertebrates, this symposium will show how fossil records and developmental morphological data can be discussed together in a common evolutionary zoological context.

Part 1 of the symposium will be focused on the origin of jawed vertebrates, and Part 2 will deal with the diversity of vertebrates, mainly on tetrapods.
