Barry J. Dickson

Barry Dickson received his B. Sc. with honors from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 1987, and his Ph. D. from the University of Zurich, Switzerland in 1992. He served postdoctoral fellowships at the Zoologisches Institut der Universität Zürich, Switzerland (1993-4) and the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology, University of California, Berkeley (1994-5) before being appointed junior group leader at the Zoologisches Institut in 1996. He was made group leader at the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP), Vienna, Austria in 1998, and senior scientist at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology Austrian Academy of Sciences (IMBA) in 2003. In 2006 he was appointed director of the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology.
