Hideki Enomoto

Hideki Enomoto received his M. D. from the Chiba University School of Medicine in 1988, and his Ph. D. from the same institution in 1996. After serving as the Chief of the Department of Pediatric Surgery, Matsudo Municipal Hospital in Chiba, Japan, he moved to the Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis in 1997, to work as a research associate. He returned to Japan to take a position as a team leader at the CDB in 2002. His current research aims at understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying neural development, in particular by elucidating the role of the GDNF family of ligands and their receptors in the structure, function and disease of the nervous system.
